In an email sent out to members past and present in February 2021, Total Fitness confirmed that the attack was carried out by an international organised cyber crime network gang. They were able to access a subset of information containing private data from June 2018.

The email disclosed that the financial information compromised in the breach is said to include :

Names
Bank Account details
Bank Sort Code details
Compromised Information
Total Fitness were keen to try and reassure customers by informing them that the financial information is listed in isolation and is not linked with any other identifying information such as email addresses or postal addresses.
Response
Total Fitness have claimed that all of their systems were immediately locked down before being migrated to a new clean environment.

Total Fitness have stated that they are working with law enforcement.
